The First week in 2015

Room 12 students are enjoying ice lollies offered by a kind parent Rhonda, on a hot and sweltering afternoon in the first week of the term. "Thank you for the yummy ice lollies," cried the boys to Franchois' Mum.

"You are welcome Room 12" replied Franchois' Mum, Rhonda. Its great having parents come in our classroom, especially when they bring cool ice lollies to share.

Here is our inquiry statement and question for Term 1. Its about dealing with conflict and disagreements in our daily lives. We have learnt that the only people to solve our troubles are ourselves. So we have created a Class Rap to help us work well as a team.

We also learnt to do an awesome KWL Chart to ask questions about the text we are reading in our groups. The 3 Billy Goats Gruff was very interesting.

We love our shared reading time after lunch when the milk monitors bring in the milk which is very healthy for our bodies. We love both the milk and the fruit and we feel very lucky to be given healthy fruit and milk for free.

After inquiry we get to sit anywhere we feel comfortable in class and read books about the things that interest and hooks us.

Reading is like feeding our heads with knowledge and facts that help us to understand the world in which we live. So we read around the world like a true Duffy Kid!
